Eric's Party

by Roland <Kingfan@aol.com>

The party was a disaster. The music was blasting, people were smoking, drinking alcohol from the bar, breaking things, dancing on my step mothers piano, jumping up and down on the furniture, spilling drinks and food on the carpet. Someone even had the nerve to drive a motorcycle threw the house and burn a doughnut ring into the hard wood floor in the dining room.

Everyone just went completely out of control and nothing I did or said stopped them from trashing my house. So I did what anyone in my position would have done. I drank.

My plan was to get so _d_a_m_n_ drunk that I didn't care about the house or what would happen to me when my father and stepmother got home. So I sat down on the steps with a bottle of whiskey, in the middle of all that madness going on around me, and I got drunk.

David found me a few hours later, sitting at the bottom of the stairs, bottle in hand, drinking like a fish, and sat down beside me.

"Hey Buddy." I laughed and leaned my head on his shoulder.

"This is bad Eric, real bad." He told me.

"I know it is." I said, then I held out the bottle to him. "Want a drink?"

"Sure." He said taking the bottle.

"I didn't know this place could look so bad...." I said and started to laugh. "My parents are going to freak when they get home. I mean they're really going to freak." I told him.

He was about to open his mouth to comment, but the sound of something else being broken in the living room stopped him.

I just burst into another fit of laughter.

"We have to get these people out of here." He said looking very serious.

"I've been trying to get them to leave for the last three hours. Nobody will move." I said my words slurred.

"We could call the police." He suggested.

"What?" I said looking at him like he lost his mind. Then I thought maybe I just didn't hear him right. "Call who?"

"The Police."

"That's what I thought you said...........are you insane?"

"Can you think of a better Idea?"

Perhaps he was right. "OK." I laughed. "Call the police.....It will be more convenient for when my Dad kills me."

An hour later I was laying across on the bottom step, almost passed out, when two police officers walked in the front door, leaving it wide open.

All of a sudden someone yelled "POLICE" at the top of their lungs and all hell broke loose. People were running every where, some even jumping over me as they came down the steps.

"This is it people, the party is over...everybody out!!." The older of the two officers shouted over all the commotion going on around him, but he really didn't have to say anything. Just the fact that he was standing there was enough to get people moving.

The other officer walked over and looked down at me. "And what about you young man, are you all right?"

"Ssssssssure."

He grabbed my arm and pulled me up off the steps. "Stand up here for me." He said, but I was not capable of standing on my own two feet at the moment and as soon as he let go I started to fall sideways. He saw this and quickly grabbed onto me and pulled me back. "On second thought, why don't you just sit right here on this step for me."

I sat there fading in and out of consciousness as he questioned me about who I was and where I lived.

"Where do I live....what are you whacked." I said feeling a little sorry for how stupid he was. "I live here in, this is my ........"

In the middle of my sentence I noticed my father and stepmother walked threw the front door. Their faces showed their shock and horror.

"There's my father now. Ask him, he'll tell you I live here." I said.

The younger officer standing by the door asked them who they were.

"I'm Adam Hunter officer, and this is....or should I say, this was my house!" My father yelled.

"Yes sir, it's pretty bad."

"What the hell happened here?"

"I'm afraid your son had a party here tonight and things got a little out of hand."

Allecia spun around in circles and just burst out crying.

"Where is my son right now?" I heard him ask.

"I'm right here Dad." I shouted and started to wave at him like a nut, but he did not wave back. He just staired at me, his eyes burning with rage.

"Hey look." I said looking around. " I trashed your house." And with that I burst out laughing hysterically.

His eyes darkened and he started to walk slowly toward me. "You had a god _d_a_m_n_ party?" He asked moving his hands up to his hips.

"Uhh........a little one." I said trying to control my urge to laugh.

"It looks like world war three took place in here!" He yelled.

I laughed again, but this time it was one of those deep belly laughs that I couldn't control. "World war three."

He came at me suddenly and jerked me up by my arm. "Stop laughing and look at this place _d_a_m_n_it!" He shouted and whirled me around to see.

I looked at it like he said and it was more humorous than before.

"Stop laughing for gods sake!" He yelled.

I did suddenly but not because he said to. I stopped because I started to feel sick to my stomach. "I didn't mean it Dad, I swear....please don't be mad." I almost moaned.

"Don't be mad.........how can you tell me not to be mad.....if you blew the house up I don't think I could be any madder than I am right now........Jesus look at this place....Look at yourself. I feel like I've just stepped into hell or some _d_a_m_n_ place." He yelled.

I started to sweat and shiver at the same time. "I know Dad..." I groaned.

"He doesn't look so good." The young officer said.

My father looked at me closer. "What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing, it's just that I don't feel too good right now....I think I'm going to......" I never finished my sentence. Instead I bent over directly in front of him and threw up right at his feet.

"Oh Jesus." Allecia yelled.

The police officer closest to me jumped back, but my father didn't flinch. He didn't even move. He just looked down at his feet and staired for a minute, then his eyes came back to me.

I stood there sort of hunched over, holding my stomach looking up at him, waiting for the end, but he didn't grab me or start swinging. He just stood there looking more pissed than I could remember seeing him before.

"Oh that's wonderful Eric......That's just great........." He said in a low voice. "Just _f_u_c_k_ing great."

I never heard his say the "F" word before, and it shocked me.

"I'm sorry Dad." I groaned.

He sighed again and lifted his foot and shook it off a little. "Just _f_u_c_k_ing great."

My head started to spin uncontrollably and I found that I couldn't stand any longer, so I dropped down to my knees and collapsed on the floor, resting my head on the carpet.

"Allecia and I go out for one night, and this is what happens."

"UHHHHHH." Was all I could manage.

"Oh, you are going to pay for this son" He said as he looked around at the disaster before him. "And I don't mean with your allowance."

The police officers just smiled, knowing exactly what my father meant. Had I not been so drunk I probably would have been embarrassed over this, but I wasn't.
