School Daze Part One

Mr Roberts stared out of his office window at the packed playing fields of his new school St fothercanes, he had finally made it to headmaster, it had taken 12 years of licking arse but finally, here he was at the helm of his own ship.

St Fothercanes was a traditional English Grammar School that had fallen out of favour with most of the local "well to do's", Steven Roberts had all intention of restoring that favour.

"Miss Bryant ... pop in and take a letter for me would you please", he announced over the primative intercom system that he had inherited, "Certainly Mr Roberts" came the crackly reply.

Miss Bryant entered the Oak walled study that was now Steven Roberts Office, she sat, cross legged on the 'visitors chair' in front of his matching Oak desk.

"Letter to go out to all parents", he stated, "Dear parent Guardian, it has come to my attention since my arrival at St Fothercanes that the standards previously expected of the school have slipped beyond recognition, in an attempt to reverse this trend I am canvassing opinion of you the parent guardian as to what should be done about the discipline problem that cast a shadow over this once proud school ... etc etc yours sincerely ... S. Roberts Headmaster", thank you Miss Bryant. Draft a copy for my approval and I would like that then mailshotting out to all parents.

"Of course Mr Roberts", stated Miss Bryant before leaving the study.

Within a week, the mail was coming in by the sackload, one theme that kept re-occuring in all mail was that of corporal punishment and how most parents felt that standard had dropped since the abolishment of it. Roberts was never one to not take the bull by the horns and instantly introduced a new rule that stated that 'any child who breaks the laws of the school will be sent to the headmaster for suitable punishment, the details of this punishment will be deemed by the headmaster to suit those that match the offence'.

Roberts knew that as soon as the new proposed rules were accepted by the board of govenors that he then had free reign to bend and utilise the ruling as he saw fit.

To his surprise and delight the ruling was sanctioned the following day.

Please check back at next update to find out what Mr Roberts plans are for the poor unsuspecting pupils of St Fothercanes are.
